Announcements:

Dennis Morley announced that the high schools are urging COS to accept high school AP Statistics. The faculty agreed that students who passed the AP Statistics Exam may receive credit for Math 21.

George Woodbury stated that he is looking into changing languages in his computer science courses, and would like to form a committee to help with the process. Anyone interested needs to speak with George.

The Matriculation Math Sub-Committee meets on Tuesday, October 19. Mark Tom, Dennis Morley, and Tracy Redden currently serve on this committee.

Dennis Morley announced that room 204A will be a new computer lab starting Spring 2000. He urged the faculty to implement lab work into their courses to fully utilize both labs.

 

1)    Partnership for Excellence Update
        Chris DeFlitch used overhead transparencies to show a chart of how much
        Partnership for Excellence money has been spent, and who was doing the
        spending.

2)    Self-Study Budget Requests
        Dennis Morley reminded the faculty that they needed to get their budget
        requests in as soon as possible. 
        Some ideas that were mentioned:
        More TI displays, new laptop computer, copy machine for division office,
        tables in room 306, faculty office space, etc.
